Hong Kong Energy & Infrastructure Of Counsel gave a speech addressing Vietnamese PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc during a reception at the Vietnam–Hong Kong Business Forum in the latter’s honour held on Thursday 15th September during his recent visit to China.
Linh’s speech, which was broadcast on Vietnamese national television on the same day, focused on the existing strong ties between Vietnam and the Hong Kong SAR and how they could be further enhanced. This included encouraging Vietnamese businesses to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, deepening ties between the Hong Kong and Vietnamese judiciaries and streamlining the work permit process for Vietnamese entrepreneurs and professionals to acquire working visas for the city.
Following her speech, Linh enjoyed a personal conversation with the Prime Minister, who responded positively to all the issues she raised in her speech.
Vietnam and Hong Kong already enjoy strong economic ties, with trade between the two topping VN$16 billion last year, a year-on-year increase of 16.7%. Hong Kong is Vietnam’s tenth-largest trading partner, while the latter is the city’s ninth-largest partner.
A prominent member of the Vietnamese community in Hong Kong, in addition to being Of Counsel with WFW, Linh is also founding partner of well-regarded Hanoi-based Vietnamese law firm LVN & Associates.
