WFW advises Tank & Rast on acquisition of Wayne’s Coffee8 March 2018

Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised long-standing client Tank & Rast Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (“Tank & Rast”) on its acquisition of coffee bar chain Wayne och Magareta’ Coffee AB (“Wayne’s Coffee”).

With a franchise network of over 100 outlets, Wayne’s Coffee has expanded rapidly to become Sweden’s second-largest coffee bar chain within just a few years and its acquisition represents Tank & Rast’s entry into this rapidly growing sector. Tank & Rast, Germany’s leading motorway services provider, will work with Wayne’s Coffee to help facilitate its further international expansion by sharing its extensive expertise in building up a strong brand.

The WFW Germany team advising Tank & Rast was led by Frankfurt Corporate Partner Dr Torsten Roseboom, assisted by Senior Associate Sebastian Ens and Associates Dr Robert Schalber, Dr Jan Winzen and Nicolas Persch. Banking & Finance Partner Frederik Lorenzen and Associate Fabian Arhelger, also in Frankfurt, advised on the financial aspects of the transaction, with regulatory expertise provided by Hamburg Partner Dr Christine Bader and Associate Dr Eva-Maria Christiansen.

The team worked closely throughout the transaction with Tank & Rast’s in-house legal team led by Head of Legal Ralf Rothkamp.

Tank & Rast were advised on the Swedish law aspects of the transaction by Advokatfirman Lindahl, one of that country’s largest law firms. Their team was led by Partner Carl-Olof Bouveng, assisted by  Associates Fredrik Morfeld, Josephine Gejard and Johanna Permatz.
