Watson Farley & Williams Asia Practice (“WFWAP”) is delighted to have been shortlisted for ‘Deal of the Year’ at the 2015 Lloyd’s List Asia Awards, which is one of the industry’s most sought-after accolades. The nomination is in recognition of the firm’s work advising Lenders on the project financing of six Korea Gas Corporation (“KOGAS”) newbuild LNG carriers, documented under six separate syndicated facilities, with a combined value of over US$1.2bn. KOGAS is one of the world’s largest importers of LNG and the vessels are operated by three of Korea’s leading shipping companies, Korea Line Corporation, SK Shipping Co. Ltd and Hyundai LNG Shipping Co., Ltd. The transaction is representative of a continued appetite for LNG shipping and for projects sponsored by KOGAS.
Partner and head of WFWAP Goh Mei Lin led on the transaction.
This nomination continues on the success of last year’s ‘Deal of the Year’ win, highlighting WFWAP’s position as a leading advisor in the maritime sector.
The winner will be announced during the awards ceremony, which is being held on Wednesday 28 October 2015 at the Fullerton Hotel, Singapore.
