Watson, Farley & Williams’ (WFW) London finance practice has been strengthened with the return of partner Chris Lowe, who joins the London office again after an 11-year period at WFW’s Singapore office.
Chris will head WFW’s global maritime sector from London. He was previously head of WFW Singapore, and under his leadership the office turnover grew six-fold. Fee-earner headcount expanded from 18 in 2001 to 45 fee-earners today. WFW Singapore will now be led by finance partner Mei Lin Goh.
Chris’s practice encompasses a broad base of big-ticket bank and owner-led shipping and offshore finance work. Recent transactions have included advising Golar LNG Energy Limited on Indonesia’s (and South East Asia’s) first floating offshore regasification unit; and advising Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd on the financing for the newbuild programme of LNG carriers in excess of US$ 1 billion.
Chris Lowe comments: “I look forward to working back in the London office, and continuing to build the firm’s global brand and business in the shipping and offshore oil & gas sectors.”
