His practice area covers a broad range of corporate matters such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and private equity across a spectrum of sectors.

Aaron’s experience also includes advising on cross-border, multi- jurisdictional transactions in the South East Asia region, with a keen focus on Indonesia. He regularly acts on several high-profile and complex transactions and is noted by IFLR1000 2018 for providing “commercially sound advice” and “being responsive” to his clients’ business requirements.

Aaron is an advocate & solicitor in Singapore and is also qualified to practice English law.

Experience Open

    Aaron’s experience includes:
    • Acting for the secured lenders including affiliates of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co L.P. in the US$650m restructuring of PT Berlian Laju Tanker (IFLR Asia “Restructuring Deal of the Year” Award Winner).
    • Acting for Capitaland, one of Asia’s largest real estate developers, on its joint venture with an Indonesian conglomerate to develop a S$220m integrated development in Central Jakarta.
    • Acting for private equity firm CVC on the restructuring of its investment in PT Matahari Department Stores Tbk. Subsequent to the restructuring, the private equity firm and its joint venture partners launched a share sale worth an estimated US$1.3bn.
    • Acting for In.Corp Global Pte Ltd and its shareholders on the divestment of a controlling stake in the company to Swedish-based private equity group EQT Partners.
    • Acting for Teekay Offshore Partners L.P. on the US$610m equity investment by Brookfield Business Partners and the reorganisation of Teekay’s shuttle tanker business.
    • Acting for a Chinese state-owned enterprise on its maritime joint venture to build and charter 4 four Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs).
    • Acting for a SGX-listed fashion and lifestyle corporation on the partial divestment of its operations in Indonesia to, and the related joint venture with, PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya, one of Indonesia’s largest investment firms.
    • Acting for food solutions and airport gateway services group SATS in its S$129m acquisition of a stake in PT Cardig Aero Services.
    • Acting for an India-based venture capital fund in its proposed investment in an Indonesian entity in the cassava and tapioca starch production business.
    • Acting for a leading international supplier of palm kernel shells with an extensive network of suppliers and stockpiles in Indonesia on its spot and long-term supply agreements to power generation companies in Japan and Korea.
    • Advising a leading international media rights company on issues arising out of a sale of its business in Indonesia and Singapore, including the transfer of the employees of its business in Indonesia to the purchaser.
