Luis is the partner responsible for Watson Farley & Williams Madrid Tax Group.

Luis specialises in national and international tax, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, asset finance and tax dispute resolution.

He has expertise in renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate, shipping and TMT & IT matters. Luis advised local companies in their international expansion and has a wide knowledge of Latin American taxation.

Prior to joining Watson Farley & Williams as partner in 2011, he worked in Madrid office of PwC. Luis has over 20 years of professional experience in tax advising.

    • Advising Greentech on the international tax structuring and tax due diligence for the acquisition from Gamesa of a 30 MW wind farm in Spain.
    • Advising Hannover Leasing on the international tax structuring of the acquisition of 7 photovoltaic plants in Mallorca, Spain.
    • Advising Foresight on the tax implantations of the acquisition and finance of several photovoltaic plants in Spain sold by Gamesa and Gestamp.
    • Tax advice to BBVA and BayernLB on the acquisition finance of 6 photovoltaic plants in Murcia, Spain.
    • Advising WestLB and Banco Popular on the due diligence and documentation of the financing agreements for two wind farms in Spain owned by Acciona.
    • Advising Cobra-ACS on tax issues related to their renewable projects.
    • Advising La Caixa on the tax implications derived from a merger of companies engaged on renewable projects owned by Fotowatio.
    • Advising Helicopters Transportation Group and Waypoint Leasing on the tax implications of the sale of a portfolio of helicopters in Spain.
    • Advising EDT Ship Management on two Spanish shipping tax lease transactions.
    • Advising ADIF-Alta Velocidad on the Spanish tax aspects of the issuance of notes in the Irish Stock Exchange under the Euro Medium Term Note Programme.
    • Advising Andritz Hydro GmnH on the tax structuring of its operations in Spain.
