Marc-Alexandre is a Senior Associate in the Finance group in the Paris office of Watson Farley & Williams.

He advises financial institutions, equity investors, export credit agencies, lessors, manufacturers and operators on a wide range of high-profile cross-border asset finance, leasing and project finance transactions.

While his asset finance and leasing practice focuses primarily in the aviation (commercial aircraft / business jets / helicopters), shipping and rail sectors, he has also developed – with regard to project finance – a strong expertise in the energy, infrastructure and mining sectors.

Marc-Alexandre joined Watson Farley & Williams in 2017 after having worked at other leading international law firms in Europe and Canada. In addition to his native French, he speaks fluent English, Spanish and German.

    Aviation finance:
    • On the purchase and financing of 1 x Dassault Falcon 2000 aircraft for a prominent Eastern European businessman.
    • Chinese Lessor CALC on the financing and JOLCO refinancing of 1 x A320 aircraft for AirAsia Berhad and 1 x A320 aircraft for Thai AirAsia.
    • Leading French and German lenders on the JOLCO financing of 2 x B737 aircraft for Transavia France.
    • A leading simulator operator on the finance/leasing of a number of A380 and A320 flight simulators.
    • A German bank on the complex sale of a B747 aircraft (including off-wing engines) and unwinding of the underlying three-tiered leasing structure.
    • A syndicate of lenders on the €99m financing (and PDP financing) of 14 EMS-configured Beechcraft B250/Cessna Citation Latitude aircraft to be operated pursuant to medical procurement contracts in Scandinavia.
    Shipping finance:
    • A a pool of over 25 French banks led by Société Générale on the English law shipping aspects of the $1bn debt restructuring of Bourbon.
    • A French shipping company on the €178m financing (which combined a French financial lease (crédit-bail) and syndicated debt financing coupled with a funded sub-participation of the European Investment Bank (EIB)) of a LNG powered ferry, the very first vessel to benefit from green maritime financing under EIB’s €750m Green Shipping Guarantee programme put in place in 2016 by the EIB and Société Générale (as part of the Juncker investment plan for Europe and the Connecting Europe Facility).
