In this edition of Snacks, our bitesize weekly Italian employment law update, we look at the following recent cases and notices:
  • Privacy Authority: ban on software which accesses employees’ emails and makes backups;
  • a decree introducing the contributions pay reliability index published;
  • three months parental leave at 80% for those ending maternity or paternity leave after 31/12/2024;
  • reduced compensation for asbestos damage if smoking victim concurs;
  • dismissal communicated via company’s cloud system valid;
  • requalification of an employment is lawful after settlement agreement in protected venue;
  • joint and several liability in atypical contracts of large scale stores;
  • absence during unpaid leave after maximum sick leave expired is always justified; and
  • lawful dismissal of an employee wasting time at the bar.
