Members of the Employment & Immigration Group provided an update on key developments and challenges within the UK immigration sphere during the last 12 months, including practical tips for employers navigating the post-Brexit visa regime.
The considered employment law future developments in relation to pay transparency, modern slavery and family friendly rights.
They looked at the implications for employers of the government’s “plan for living with COVID”, specifically an employer’s ability to ask employees to isolate, and the requirement to pay sick pay.
Recent significant decisions in the following areas will also be examined:
- whether dismissing an employee for bringing grievances which are vexatious and/or frivolous can be fair; and
- fire and rehire and the recently introduced ACAS guidance on fire and rehire practices.
