AIEN Live Event, sponsored by Watson Farley & Williams
This was a follow-up event to our ‘Investing in Egypt’s Hydrocarbon Sector’ series organised by the Europe Chapter of AIEN (Association of International Energy Negotiators, formerly AIPN) and sponsored by Watson Farley & Williams.
In our last event before the pandemic, we looked at the current state of the Egyptian market and the potential investment opportunities that we believed existed at the time. As we predicted then, the last couple of years saw a significant increase in the levels of M&A activity and investment, backed by commercial banks, traders and private equity, in Egypt’s oil & gas sector.
In this event, our team of experts re-examined the attraction to investment in the oil & gas sector in Egypt and its offshore market and the challenges that participants may face. Panellists endeavoured to cover the following topics:
- Lessons learned from recent transactions
- The ongoing attraction of the Egyptian hydrocarbon sector including opportunities for M&A and investment
- Next steps and outlook
