REGULATORY BODY:
We practice law in Japan through our Japanese qualified lawyers (bengoshi) and/or foreign registered lawyers in Japan (gaikokuho jimu bengoshi), who are registered and regulated by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations and the Daini Tokyo Bar Association.
Unless otherwise specified, lawyers based in Japan who are qualified in other jurisdictions are also registered with and regulated by the relevant regulatory body in their place of admission. As an international firm, we draw a number of lawyers from other jurisdictions that are members of foreign bars. Any of our foreign lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants working in Japan without requisite registration provides services under the supervision of our bengoshi and/or gaikokuho jimu bengoshi lawyers to the extent permitted under the relevant laws and regulations.
