Charlotte is a Senior Associate in the Assets and Structured Finance group.

Prior to moving to Dubai, she worked in our London, Athens, Bangkok and Singapore offices.

Charlotte specialises in maritime transactions; advising financiers, owners and operators on domestic and cross-border finance and commercial matters. She has represented lenders, lessors, lessees and owners in a range of areas such as secured loan transactions, sale and leaseback structures, restructuring existing debt as well as loan portfolio and fleet sales. Charlotte also advises on sale and purchase transactions, chartering arrangements and newbuilding contracts.

In Chambers Global 2024 and 2025, she has been ranked as an ‘Associate to Watch’ and forms part of the team that is ranked Band 1 in the ‘Shipping: Finance & Non-Contentious’ category. Charlotte is further recognised in both the ‘Shipping and Banking’ and ‘Finance’ categories of Legal 500 EMEA where she is listed as a ‘Key Lawyer’.

She is a member of WISTA, UAE and the Emirates Shipping Association and has been appointed to sit on the ‘Advancing of UAE Registry as Flag State’ Advisory Committee.

  • Advising ABN AMRO Capital USA LLC on a US$220m loan facility to Team Tankers which refinanced certain existing indebtedness and assisted Team Tankers increasing its overall fleet from 37 to 52 vessels.
  • Advising three separate financiers who provided loan facilities to Goodbulk Ltd. for the acquisition of 14 Capesize dry bulk carriers during a 2017/2018 from entities managed by CarVal Investors.
  • Advising Kyklades Maritime Corporation with its sale and lease-back arrangements to subsidiaries of Ocean Yield ASA in respect of four new VLCC crude tankers.
  • Advising US-based financial investor Cerberus Capital Management in its $1.22bn purchase of 94.9% of HSH Nordbank AG which included its extensive shipping and offshore loan portfolio.
