Dan is an Associate in the Real Estate group.

Dan is construction lawyer focusing on all aspects of non-contentious construction in the UK and overseas.

He specialises in drafting, negotiating and advising on bespoke and industry standard form contracts such as the JCT and NEC suites of contracts, as well as consultant appointments, sub-contracts and related ancillary documents including collateral warranties and third party rights, novation agreements, parent company guarantees and vesting certificates.

His experience spans a wide variety of building and infrastructure projects, from early engagement and tender stage and throughout the project lifecycle.

Prior to joining WFW, he spent 6 years in-house at an international engineering and construction company, where he trained and qualified and was involved in several high-profile projects in both the public and private sector.

Dan brings strong industry knowledge to every project and an appreciation for the key commercial drivers for those involved in procuring and delivering construction projects of all sizes and complexity.

  • Advised the main contractor in negotiations for the construction of a new stadium for a Premier League football club, including the PCSA, Enabling and Main Works Contracts and associated ancillary documents, sub-contracts and professional appointments.
  • Advising on the construction elements of two delivery partner contracts for major grid and regional water infrastructure upgrade programmes.
  • Advising on the development of a bespoke framework for the appointment of specialist consultants.
  • Acting for the main contractor and specialist sub-contractors on various construction and related trade contracts as part of a major national rail programme, including advising on the building contracts for two new stations (along with associated warranties and security documents).
  • Advising a developer on forms of construction contract for the refurbishment of a hotel within its portfolio.
  • Advising on the contract documents for key packages in the extension of an existing pier at an international airport in the UK and leading negotiations with specialist trades and service providers.
