Daniel is a Senior Associate in the Madrid Assets and Structured Finance Group.

He advises a wide range of clients, including arrangers, lenders and other financial/lending institutions, shipowners, aircraft and rail lessors in asset-based finance structures, particularly within the maritime, aviation and rail sectors. A significant portion of the transactions include a cross-border/international element.

His work covers all steps of the projects, including drafting, negotiating and implementing contracts and tax-based structures with a focus on the Spanish tax lease scheme and subsidy structures as well as syndicated financing (involving export credit agencies), ship and aircraft registration and corporate-related matters. Most recently he also advised clients from an insolvency standpoint.

  • Advising Bankia on the financing of an export buyer’s credit backed by CESCE for the construction of an ultra-luxury sailing cruise vessel for Sea Cloud Cruises GmbH.
  • Advising Waypoint on different acquisitions, leasings and financings as a result of currently having a fleet of more than twelve helicopters in Spain.
  • Advising Banca March on several financing structures for ships under construction, with governmental support based on the Spanish Royal Decree 874/2017, in different Spanish yards.

Daniel es Asociado Sénior del departamento de financiación de activos

Asesora a una gran variedad de clientes, incluyendo estructuradores, financiadores y otras instituciones financieras o de crédito, armadores, arrendadores de aeronaves y del sector ferroviario en estructuras de financiación de activos, especialmente en los sectores marítimo, aéreo y ferroviario. Una parte importante de las operaciones en las que participa tiene un elemento transfronterizo/internacional.

Su trabajo abarca todas las fases de los proyectos, incluyendo la redacción, negociación e implementación de contratos y estructuras fiscales, con especial atención al régimen de arrendamiento fiscal o de tax lease español y de subvención de tipos de interés, así como financiaciones sindicadas (en las que participan agencias de crédito a la exportación), registro de buques y aeronaves y asuntos societarios relacionados. Recientemente también ha asesorado a clientes desde un punto de vista concursal.
