Ellen specialises in banking and project finance transactions across the energy sector, acting for banks, financial institutions, borrowers and developers.

Since joining the firm, Ellen has worked in the firm’s London, Singapore and Paris offices.

  • Advising Alpha Trains on its raising of €548m in a combination of senior and HoldCo level secured bank debt within its existing common terms financing platform. The financing enabled Alpha Trains to refinance existing debt, finance new build rolling stock and restructure the group by bringing its subsidiary Alpha Trains OSK into the financing platform. The entirety of the debt comprises “green” finance, in line with Alpha Trains’ sustainability framework. This was a complex, cross-border deal, involving ten jurisdictions and a large multi-office team.
  • Advising Streem Holding on its private placement offering, involving multiple tranches of fixed and floating rate notes.
  • Advising EBRD on a senior synthetic AZN loan of up to the equivalent of US$50m, consisting of a committed tranche of US$25m and an uncommitted tranche of US$25m, to Aztelekom, a state-owned company providing telecommunications services in the regions of Azerbaijan outside Baku to finance the rollout of the modern Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH).
  • Advising BNP Paribas as documentation bank and DNB Bank ASA, New York Branch as agent on a US$1bn term and revolving credit facility to Scorpio Tankers Inc. The over-subscribed credit facility provided by a group of banks will be used to finance 45 product tankers. This deal won Money’s Bank Debt Deal of the Year 2023.
  • Advising Sonnedix on the signing of an innovative €500m loan facility to finance the construction of its renewable development pipeline in Europe and the UK, particularly in Spain, Italy and England. The new, non-recourse facility allows Sonnedix to cluster, contract and construct its pipeline of renewable plants more efficiently and flexibly.
