Florian advises in the areas of global energy, natural resources and infrastructure development, financings and M&A – acting for governments, developers/sponsors, multilaterals/DFIs/ECAs, financial institutions and institutional investors. His extensive experience includes many landmark projects and stretches across major markets in Europe, the Middle East, South America, Asia and Africa.
Florian has also given external lectures, presentations and seminars, including in Turkey, Nigeria and Ghana and regularly speaks at conferences and on panels, most recently in Kyiv on Renewable Energy financing in Ukraine and in Serbia on PPP/infrastructure projects in the region.
Although English law qualified, he has been ranked for several consecutive years as one of “The Best Lawyers in Germany” in the fields of Energy Law and Banking and Finance Law by Best Lawyers in cooperation with Handelsblatt. Clients also praise Florian as “one of the most well-known English law advisors in Turkey in infrastructure projects”.
- Advising Çalık Enerji Swiss AG on a structured cross-border financing in relation to the construction of a state-of-the-art 1574 MW combined cycle power plant at Kiyanly in Turkmenistan under which guarantee facilities were provided to it by Commerzbank AG in an aggregate amount of US$586.25m and guaranteed by Çalık Enerji San ve Tic. A.S.
- Advising UniCredit Bank GmbH on a €25m loan granted to Elifriulia S.p.A. to finance the purchase of three Airbus H145 rescue helicopters from Airbus SE.
- Advising a consortium of lenders comprising leading global infrastructure investors Infranity, I Squared Capital and Rivage Investment on the €410m HoldCo/mezzanine financing of MaxSolar GmbH’s solar and BESS portfolio in Germany and Austria.
- PPP Toll Road and Bridge in Turkey: Advising the international sponsors on the EKF, ICIEC, K-Sure and K-EXIM covered financing of the 1915 Canakkale Bridge and Motorway BOT Project (which will be the largest suspension bridge in the world). Turkish Deal of the Year 2018 (PFI), Europe Road Deal of the Year 2018 (IJ Global), Project and Infrastructure Finance Deal of the Year 2018 (Islamic Finance News - IFN), Best EMEA ECA-Backed Deal of the Year 2018 (Proximo), Project Finance Deal of the Year 2018 and Infrastructure Finance Deal of the Year 2018 (Bond and Loan Awards).
- Powership financings, Africa and Asia: Advising groups of lenders (including development banks) in relation to the financing of several power ships deployed to a variety of jurisdictions, including Ghana, Indonesia and Lebanon. Their capacity ranges from 175MW to 470MW (the world’s largest power ship).
- Solar Power Plant, Ghana: Advising the sponsor in relation to the joint venture arrangements and financing of a solar PV plant in Ghana.
- CCGT power plant project, Turkey: Advising the sponsors in connection with a Hermes and Delcredere Ducroire backed project financing of a 1,500 MW combined cycle power plant project in Turkey. (Best structured finance deal in CEE 2015 (EMEA Finance magazine).

Florian Kutzbach hielt bereits Vorträge, Präsentationen und Seminare, u.a. in der Türkei, Nigeria und Ghana. - Beratung der Çalık Enerji Swiss AG bei einer strukturierten grenzüberschreitenden Finanzierung im Zusammenhang mit dem Bau eines hochmodernen 1574-MW-Kombikraftwerks in Kiyanly in Turkmenistan, in deren Rahmen ihr die Commerzbank AG Bürgschaftsfazilitäten in einer Gesamthöhe von 586,25 Millionen US-Dollar zur Verfügung gestellt und von der Çalık Enerji San ve Tic. A.S. garantiert werden.
- Beratung der UniCredit Bank GmbH bei einem Darlehen in Höhe von 25 Millionen Euro an Elifriulia S.p.A. zur Finanzierung des Kaufs von drei Airbus H145 Rettungshubschraubern von Airbus SE.
