James Wickham

James is an Associate in the Assets & Structured Finance group.
James advises banks, financial institutions, owners and operators on all aspects of loan and security documentation within the maritime, aviation and rail sectors. He also advises buyers and sellers on sale and purchase transactions.
Since joining the firm, James has worked in the London, Athens and Hamburg offices. He has also been on secondment to the ING Bank and, more recently, Macquarie Group.
- Advising Deutsche Bank AG on the $250m refinancing of the 470MW Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan (Structured Finance Deal of the Year 2022 at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Turkey Awards).
- Advising Investec Bank Limited in connection to the $59m RCF to ACIA Aero Leasing (RCF Deal of the Year 2022 at the Airfinance Journal Awards).
- Advising Investec Bank Limited on the financing of a portfolio of 15 helicopters and 5 specialist fixed wing aircraft and a European bank on a further 6 helicopters to LEVL Leasing Limited.
- Advising a major maritime banking institution as agent on behalf of a syndicate of lenders in relation to facilities for more than $1b for the financing and refinancing of 35 ships.
- Advising an international banking group as agent on behalf of a syndicate of lenders in relation to an ECA-backed term loan facility for more than $800m for 6 newbuild container ships.
