Jan specialises in ship and asset financing and restructuring, where he advises domestic and international banks and other financial institutions.
- Advising Hamburg Commercial Bank on a US$100m revolving credit facility provided to an intermediate holding company of MPC Container Ships ASA secured by 14 vessels and replacing former revolving credit facilities from multiple banks.
- Advising Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG as lead counsel on a $135 million Fund Level Facility for the purpose of re-financing sale-and-lease-back ship transactions concluded by a subsidiary of fund managed by Meerbaum Capital Solutions. This deal won Structured Finance Deal of the Year 2020, Marine Money.
- Advising various banks on the restructuring of loans for 21 ships with a total volume of approximately US$340m.
- Advising a syndicate of seven banks on the refinancing of several ships with a total volume of about US$400m.
- Advising a bank on the restructuring of several shipping loans with a total amount of approximately US$100m.
- Advising on the acquisition and financing of a portfolio of containers for US$100m.

- Beratung der Hamburg Commercial Bank bei einer revolvierenden Kreditfazilität in Höhe von 100 Millionen US-Dollar für eine Zwischenholding der MPC Container Ships ASA, die mit 14 Schiffen besichert ist und frühere entsprechende Fazilitäten mehrerer Banken ersetzt.
- Beratung von Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG als Lead Counsel bei einer Fondsfazilität in Höhe von USD 135 Mio. zur Refinanzierung von Sale-and-lease-back-Schiffstransaktionen, die von einer Tochtergesellschaft eines von Meerbaum Capital Solutions verwalteten Fonds abgeschlossen wurden. Dieser Deal gewann den “Structured Finance Deal of the Year 2020, Marine Money Award”.
