JAN IS AN ASSOCIATE IN THE ASSETS AND STRUCTURED FINANCE GROUP.
He advises banks, financial institutions, owners, lessees, lessors and operators on all aspects of banking and finance law, with a particular focus on asset finance transactions in the shipping, aviation and rail sectors.
Jan joined the London office of Watson Farley & Williams in 2022, having previously worked for another leading international law firm in Hamburg.
Jan is admitted as a lawyer in Germany and England & Wales and speaks native German.
- Advising DNB Bank ASA on the US$900m restructuring of international shipping company Vroon’s senior secured debt by way of a debt-for-equity swap. The restructuring was implemented using an English scheme of arrangement and a Dutch WHOA procedure.
- Advising a Dutch bank on a €50,000,000 accordion facility for the financing of rail assets to a New York based investment company specialising in the transportation sector.
- Advising an asset finance firm specialised on luxury assets on the acquisition and US$65,500,000 financing of a business jet to be used by a French luxury group.
- Advising a German bank on the financial restructuring of several syndicated loan facilities provided to a Bermuda based cruise line company for the financing of various types of cruise ships.
- Advising a New York based bank on the US$49m financing of 2 tanker vessels to a Monaco based shipping company.
