Joy has extensive experience across a wide range of hotel and other commercial real estate transactions. She specialises in hotel/resort acquisitions and disposals, mixed-use developments with a hospitality component, hotel management agreements, franchise agreements, hotel leases, branded residence agreements and white label management agreements.
Joy’s clients include owners and operators of hotels, major international property investors and developers, investment funds, government bodies and lending institutions.
Joy is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
- Advising an Asian joint venture on its negotiations to enter into hotel management agreements for a portfolio of hotels in Hong Kong and Philippines with a major international hotel operator.
- Advising an international operator on its hotel management agreements and white label management agreements for branded hotel and unbranded service apartments in Africa.
- Advising a sovereign wealth fund on a major platform restructuring of a portfolio of hotels managed by a global hotel operator, which included the disposal of more than 10 hotel properties across Australia.
- Advising an owner on a complex mixed-use development in Sydney CBD, which includes a luxury hotel operated by a major international operator.
