KATHERINE IS A PARTNER IN the PROJECTS GROUP.
Katherine is a finance specialist who advises sponsors and lenders on energy and infrastructure financing transactions internationally, particularly in the UK, Spain and wider Europe.
Katherine’s experience with energy assets includes conventional power projects and a broad range of renewables transactions, including solar, onshore and offshore wind and biomass. She also has a broad range of infrastructure experience, including the funding of hospitals, toll roads, prisons, transmission assets and water treatment and desalination plants (including the financing of public private partnerships and privatisations).
She has a wealth of experience in private sector project finance and corporate and acquisition finance. In addition, Katherine regularly advises on hedging and derivative transactions (including financial power purchase agreements). She also has expertise in ECA-covered project financing and export finance.
Katherine is dual qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and Australia (New South Wales). She has also completed secondments at an international investment bank and with a global solar developer, owner and operator.
- Advised Sonnedix on the signing of an innovative €500m loan facility to finance the construction of its renewable development pipeline in Europe and the UK, particularly in Spain, Italy and England.
- Advising BBVA, Banco Santander, CaixaBank, CIBC, ING, Intesa Sanpaolo, National Australia Bank and Siemens Bank, as lenders, on the refinancing of a portfolio of seven onshore wind parks owned by Finerge with a total installed capacity of 242 MW in the Spanish provinces of Ávila and Tarragona.
- Advising Banco Santander on a €1bn green loan with a European Export Credit Agency guarantee granted to Iberdrola.
- Advising Lightsource bp in relation to a US$1.8bn revolving credit facility to be used for its global growth strategy of developing 25 GW of solar energy by 2025.
- Advised the hedge counterparties in respect of a £1.3bn investment-grade bond for the acquisition by leading Danish pension funds PKA and PFA of a 50% stake in 659 MW Walney Extension offshore wind farm from Ørsted.
