MARTIN IS A PARTNER IN THE PROJECTS GROUP.
He has over 15 years’ experience of advising on projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors worldwide. His recent experience includes advising developers, debt and equity funders in the offshore wind sector, where he has advised on projects in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Denmark and the USA both during the development and construction phases, as well as acquisitions and disposals.
Martin worked in a commercial and technical capacity for a large UK developer for nearly 10 years before qualifying as a lawyer. He is recognised as a leading individual by Chambers UK 2022 and Legal 500 UK 2022, where he is described as having an “excellent understanding of what we as a client truly need and what we are after with regard to granularity in advice” and a “truly excellent lawyer”.
- Advising TotalEnergies on its sale of a 25.5% equity stake in the Seagreen offshore wind farm for £522m to PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, a subsidiary of Thailand’s national oil and gas company PTT. With a total capacity of 1,075 MW, Seagreen is the largest offshore wind farm in Scotland as well as the world’s deepest fixed bottom wind farm.
- Advising TEPCO Renewable Power on its acquisition of Flotation Energy which owns the 480 MW Morecambe offshore wind project, White Cross floating wind project, and further projects, totalling over 12 GW of capacity across the UK, Ireland, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.
- Advising Statkraft on the sale of its 40% stake in the 317 MW Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm to the UK fund manager Equitix for £558m, and in respect of its 30% stake in the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm to a consortium led by China Resources (Holdings) Company Limited for £555m.
- Advising Vattenfall on its sale of a 49% interest in Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm to AMF, Swedish Pension Fund.
- Advising DIF, as manager of the Ampere Equity Fund, in respect of the divestment of AEF’s stake in the Walney 1 and 2 Offshore Wind Farms in the UK.
