Simon is a Partner in the Assets and Structured Finance Group.

He advises on finance transactional matters and sanctions advisory matters in the energy, maritime and infrastructure sectors.

On the transactional side, Simon advises on asset, project and structured finance across a broad range of sectors and asset classes. He has advised on the financing of FPSOs, LNG carriers, containers, container vessels, cruise vessels and onshore and offshore windfarms.

In the sanctions area, he covers the sanctions applicable under many of the UK regimes. He advises on the application of finance and trade sanctions to all types of financing and trading transactions and on sanctions provisions for loan agreements, charters and other types of agreement. Simon also advises on breaches of financing arrangements, charters and other agreements arising from sanctions issues, the unwind of transactions with designated persons, licensing matters and applications to OFSI and enforcement in the context of sanctions.

  • Advised a major FPSO owner and operator in connection with a project for the upgrade, redeployment, lease and operation of a FPSO and associated financing arrangements.
  • Advised BG Group on the US$930 million sale and charter-back arrangements relating to six LNG carriers.
