Tom is an Associate in the Projects Group.
Tom specialises in banking and project finance transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors. His experience includes project finance, acquisition finance, corporate finance, innovative development financing and export credit supported finance in the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia. Tom regularly acts for lenders, borrowers, export credit agencies and multilateral institutions.
- Advising a syndicate of ten banks on a milestone non-recourse multi-currency up to €1.3bn green financing granted to Recurrent Energy, subsidiary of Canadian Solar, for the construction and development of renewable energy projects across Europe.
- Advising a syndicate of lenders on a reserves-backed term loan facility agreement granted to Trident Energy Production Ltd for the acquisition of oil and gas assets from Chevron and Total in the Republic of Congo.
- Advising lenders (including both commercial lenders and DFIs) on the refinancing of 250 MW hydro power project in Uganda.
- Advising the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on financing granted to Nova Poshta to fund its Ukrainian postal infrastructure expansion and hardening project.
- Advising the European Investment Bank on its innovative financing partnership with the European Commission, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Health Organization and UNICEF, to provide €500m to the United Nation’s Global Polio Eradication Programme.
