Ugo is an associate in the Assets and Structured Finance group.

Ugo advises banks, financial institutions, operators and lessors on all aspects of loan, security and leasing documentation within the aviation, maritime and rail sectors. He works on a wide range of transactions including novations and sale and purchase transactions in the aviation and maritime sectors.

Ugo’s experience also covers business jet financing and acting for liquidators in the sale and purchase of aircraft as well as other aspects of finance, including leveraged/acquisition finance, real estate finance and fund investments across a range of jurisdictions including China, USA, UAE, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, Nigeria, Thailand, Philippines, Panama, Malta, Liberia and other offshore jurisdictions.

Ugo is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales and joined Watson Farley & Williams in 2022 from a US law firm based in London. He previously worked in-house for a global business information and analytics company.

  • Advised a South African bank in a $41 million facility to an Irish lessor for the acquisition of certain aircraft. This deal won the Revolving Credit Facility Deal of the Year at the Airfinance Journal Awards 2022.
  • Advised a Dublin-based liquidator in the $17 million sale and novation of two aircraft to a lessor in China.
  • Advised a global bank in its $13 million facility to a BVI borrower for the acquisition of a Bombardier business jet.
  • Advised a syndicate of two international banks in relation to the $167 million financing of the acquisition of 20 ships.
  • Advised a US Bank in the $32 million financing of the acquisition of one Singapore flagged crude carrier.
