Vassiliki is a Partner in the Assets & Structured Finance Group
Her main areas of practice are shipping finance and other non-contentious aspects of shipping such as sale and purchase transactions, JV agreements and shipbuilding contracts. She also has an excellent reputation for non-contentious advice in the yachting industry.
Vassiliki acts for a wide variety of banks, private equity funds and other financial institutions in the structuring and restructuring of loan transactions as well as for private and public shipowning entities.
She is recognised as a leading expert in shipping finance by legal directories Chambers Europe and Chambers Global. In 2023, clients told Chambers that she is “sophisticated, knowledgeable and very client-friendly” and also “very diligent, possesses deep knowledge and has extensive experience in her field of expertise, which is translated into the production of very accurate documentation and advice”.
- Advising Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in its role as facility agent and lender on a US$300m term loan facility granted to Global Ship Lease for the refinancing of ten of its container vessels.
- Advising First Citizens Bank, on its acquisition of a US$123m portfolio of 11 shipping loans previously held by HSBC Bank PLC.
- Advising CIT Bank, N.A. in relation to a US$34.25m term loan facility provided to subsidiaries of Globus Maritime Limited for the refinancing of its fleet of dry-bulk vessels.
- Global Ship Lease, Inc., a NYSE-listed containership owner, on their US$14,734,500 sale and leaseback of one ship, GSL VIOLETTA, with Neptune Maritime Leasing Limited.
- Acting as English law counsel to Costamare Participations Plc on the issuance and public offering of a US$120m corporate bond on the Athens Stock Exchange, guaranteed by Costamare Inc.
- Advised Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch in relation to a US$180.5m term facility provided to Poseidon Containers Holdings LLC to repay and extinguish a previous secured bank debt facility.
- Advised Entrust Global Ltd in relation to a US$150m sale and leaseback transaction of two container vessels acquired from and chartered back to two subsidiaries of Danaos Corporation.
- Advised Credit Suisse AG in relation to a US$233m facility agreement to Costamare Inc. for the purpose of refinancing certain indebtedness secured on 18 ships.
- Advised Costamare on US$120m bond issuance in Greece – the first ever bond issuance in the shipping sector in Greece.
- Advised Global Ship Lease on its first sale and leaseback.
