Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised Arpinge Energy Efficiency & Renewables S.r.l. (“AEER”) on the acquisition of three companies each owning a planned battery energy storage system (“BESS”) project in Campania and Sicily, Italy.
The projects, which will have a total combined capacity of approximately 310 MW once operational, will be developed and designed by Powerminds Storage S.r.l. (“Powerminds”).
A wholly owned subsidiary of Arpinge S.p.A. (“Arpinge”), AEER is a specialist investment company focussed on the energy and energy efficiency sectors.
Powerminds is owned by Emeren Group (“Emeren”), one of the world’s leading solar project developers.
The WFW Italy Energy team that advised AEER was led by Counsel Matteo Trabacchin, supported by Associates Dario Matrecano and Francesca Angelilli on the negotiation of the framework, purchase, sale and development services agreements. The team worked closely with Arpinge’s inhouse counsel Françoise Ferraro throughout the transaction.
Powerminds was advised by Baker McKenzie, supported by Emeren’s inhouse legal team.
