Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised a syndicate of banks comprising Crédit Agricole Italia S.p.A., acting as agent bank, Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. and BPER Banca S.p.A. on a loan facility granted to Adria Ferries S.p.A. (“Adria”), the Ieading shipping company in maritime transport between Italy and Albania, for the acquisition of the ferry AF Mia.
The purchase of the AF Mia was also financed through a capital increase agreed by Adria’s shareholders Navium S.r.l. and Eagle 1 S.r.l., as well as the loan. 200m long and with a top speed of 25 knots, the AF Mia can carry 1,600+ passengers and is equipped with a scrubber to reduce emissions. It has also been rebladed for fuel efficiency.
