Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised French financial institution Bpifrance and management company RGREEN INVEST on their renewed investment in LANGA INTERNATIONAL, an independent French renewable electricity developer as part of its €85m capital increase.
This second round of financing from its historic financial partners Bpifrance, via its fund France Investissement Energie Environnement, and RGREEN INVEST as well as new entrant SWEN Capital Partners, allows LANGA INTERNATIONAL to develop and build new advanced projects, primarily in Europe and the island markets in which it is active.
Launched in 2017, Bpifrance’s France Investissement Energie Environnement fund supports key players in France’s energy and environmental transition including renewables, energy efficiency and e-mobility, the circular economy and environmental services sectors.
With €2bn+ AUM, RGREEN INVEST has over a decade’s experience investing in and financing infrastructure projects supporting the energy transition and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Founded in 2008, LANGA INTERNATIONAL develops, builds and operates solar, wind, storage and hydroelectric power plants. Its portfolio totals 6 GW, including 400 MW in operation or ready to be built in 12 countries.
The WFW Paris Corporate team advising Bpifrance and RGREEN INVEST was led by Partner Thomas Rabain, assisted by Counsel Anne-Kelly d’Amécourt.
