Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) advised GP JOULE Holding GmbH & Co. KG (“GP JOULE”) on the entry of Minol-ZENNER Managing Director Alexander Lehmann as shareholder.
The GP JOULE Group is a systems provider for integrated energy solutions from solar, wind and biomass energy, as well as a supply-level partner for electricity, heat, hydrogen and electromobility. Headquartered in Reußenköge (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany), GP JOULE employs over 300 people in Europe and North America.
Alexander Lehmann is the Managing Director of the family-run Minol-ZENNER group of companies headquartered in Leinfelden-Echterdingen (Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany), a leading provider of settlement services, measurement technology, sensor technology and Internet of Things solutions that employs around 4,000 people worldwide.
In late 2019, the Minol-ZENNER Group had already acquired a stake in GP JOULE Connect GmbH, which is responsible for e-mobility business within the GP JOULE Group. With Mr Lehmann joining GP JOULE as shareholder, the cooperation between GP JOULE and Minol-ZENNER has now moved up to a new level. GP JOULE founders Ove Petersen and Heinrich Gärtner will continue to hold shares in GP JOULE and the responsibility for its business as Managing Directors.
The multidisciplinary WFW Germany team that advised GP JOULE was led by Frankfurt Corporate Partner Dr Torsten Rosenboom. He was supported by Frankfurt Partners Frederik Lorenzen and Dr Christoph Naumann, Hamburg Partner Dr Christine Bader and Of Counsel Torge Rademacher, Frankfurt Associates Nicolas Persch, Dr Marius Rothermund and Dr Manuel Köchel and Dr Eva-Maria Christiansen (Hamburg), Transaction Lawyer Ornella Galom and Trainee Leon Hofmann (both Frankfurt).
Torsten commented: “M&A transactions in the renewable energy and mobility sectors are among the core competences of our firm. We thank GP JOULE for placing their trust in us for the first time on this strategically important mandate for the Group and look forward to further cooperation”.
