Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has promoted nine Associates to the firm’s partnership in the 2018 round of promotions, bringing the firm’s total number of Partners to 167. They are:
Carlo Cosmelli – Corporate group, Milan
Carlo specialises in advising Italian and international companies, investment funds and financial institutions on cross-border and domestic M&A transactions, as well as general corporate and commercial matters, across a wide range of industries including energy and infrastructure, life sciences and real estate.
Marsila Karpida – Asset Finance group, New York
Marsila focusses on advising domestic and international shipping banks and owners on loan and security documentation, shareholders’ and investors’ agreements, charterparty negotiations, shipbuilding contracts, sale and purchase and general commercial documentation.
Louise Kyle – Real Estate group, London
Louise advises on a broad range of real estate matters, including the acquisition and disposal of investment property, commercial lettings and the property aspects of corporate and financing transactions. She also has extensive experience in the acquisition, development and financing of solar, offshore wind, combined heat and power and other renewable energy projects.
Michael Lubin – Real Estate group, New York
Michael has extensive experience representing institutional investors and private equity clients on real estate acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, development, equity and debt financing (including senior, subordinate and mezzanine), leasing and management. He also has experience in corporate retention incentive transactions and tax exempt bond financing.
George Macheras – Finance group, London
George advises banks, financial institutions and ship owners on all aspects of ship financing, including restructurings and work-outs, as well as on the commercial matters relating to the sale, purchase, employment and vessel operations.
Michael Savva – Finance group, Dubai
Michael advises financiers, owners and operators on a range of domestic and international asset and structured finance transactions in respect of a number of different asset classes, including debt and equity financing, regulatory and advisory services and enforcement. His main focusses are on aviation finance, shipping, sports and Islamic finance.
Patrick Smith – Asset Finance group, London
Patrick specialises in shipping finance, predominantly working on debt finance transactions for owners, international banks and private equity funds. He regularly acts on restructuring transactions and the maritime and due diligence aspects of mergers, fleet acquisitions and loan portfolio sales.
Ana Lorenzo Sobrado – Corporate group, Madrid
Ana specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and divestments, corporate restructuring, insolvency proceedings across a range of sectors including manufacturing, energy, professional services and real estate.
Tossaporn Sumpiputtanadacha – Dispute Resolution group, Bangkok
Tossaporn advises on a range of commercial litigation and arbitration matters including maritime, construction, private equity, insurance, employment and commercial & investment disputes.
