WFW is delighted to announce that the La Pampilla Cesce-covered buyer’s credit deal that the firm advised on has won Americas Deal of the Year at the IJ Global Trade Finance Awards 2017.
A cross-border WFW team led by Madrid Partner and Banking & Finance Head Rodrigo Berasategui advised a banking syndicate led by Banco Santander on the circa US$252m financing granted to La Pampilla, a Peruvian refinery 83% owned by Repsol, the leading Spanish energy company. The funding was used for the construction of a new production facility for diesel fuels at the refinery, which will prevent the emission of circa 100 tonnes of sulphur dioxide every day, making La Pampilla one of Peru’s most environmentally friendly refineries. Rodrigo worked closely with Paris Asset Finance Partner Alexia Russell, and was assisted by Finance Associates Juan Vicente Barquilla in Madrid and Ruth van Lare in Paris.
