WFW Dubai shifts working week to international standard in line with new UAE policy30 December 2021

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) Dubai is to shift its working week to Monday through Friday to align with global markets as of 1 January 2022, following the UAE Government’s announcement that the public sector working week will be Monday to Friday. This replaces the previous working week of Sunday through Thursday standard across much of the Arab world.

WFW Dubai Office Head Andrew Baird commented: “We welcome this move by the UAE federal government which aligns the country more closely with the working week in most other key international business hubs. Time for Friday prayers (Ṣalāt al-Jumuʿah) will naturally be made available for all staff as needed and we would also like to assure our clients across the GCC region that this change in our working week will in no way impact on our ability and availability to advise them in the time frame most convenient for their business needs”.
