Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that Solange Leandro has joined the firm’s Regulatory, Public Law and Competition team in London as a Partner. She joins WFW from Stream (formerly Ince & Co.), where she worked as Of Counsel in both London and Paris.
Solange specialises in EU/UK competition and GDPR matters, predominantly in the maritime, aviation and oil and gas sectors. She has a proven track record working on some of the most high-profile competition matters in the maritime industry, including global shipping alliances and antitrust investigations. Solange also has extensive experience working in the Middle East and Asia as well as in numerous European jurisdictions. She is dual qualified in both Portugal and England and admitted to practice at the Paris Bar. Solange is fluent in Portuguese, French, English and Spanish.
London Corporate and M&A Head Chris Kilburn commented: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Solange to the firm. Her focus on transport and energy fits perfectly with WFW’s core sectors. Being qualified in two EU member states, Solange enhances our existing UK-based competition practice at a time when regulatory issues are likely to become more prevalent as the UK and EU adapt to their new relationship post-Brexit”.
Solange added: “WFW has a fantastic international reputation in its core sectors of energy and transport and I’m excited to begin helping the firm broaden its regulatory and competition practice and become a recognised leader in this space across those sectors. I also greatly look forward to working with all my new colleagues across the firm’s international network”.
