Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announced that Sydney Partner Nathan Eastwood has been recognised in the Outstanding LGBTQ+ Executives Role Model List 2024. This is the second year that Nathan has featured in the list having achieved the same recognition in 2023.
Supported by Youtube, INvolve’s Outstanding Role Model Lists, champions LGBTQ+ Executives by highlighting impactful and innovative work they are doing to advance LGBTQ+ inclusion worldwide.
Nathan specialises in cross border disputes and international arbitration, particularly claims involving foreign governments under investment treaties and free trade agreements. As a sponsor of WFW’s LGBT+ and allies Proud Network, Nathan has been recognised for his efforts to further LGBTQ+ inclusion within the firm. This includes supporting the APAC Chapter of Proud to organise a series of events to mark Pride Month across the region. He has also established a dedicated LGBTQ+ pro bono practice, through which he provides legal advice to LGBTQ+ organisations to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ youth and Australian First Nations people.
This announcement follows WFW’s Sydney office achieving the Australian Workplace Equality Index Bronze Employer Status earlier this year, in recognition of its efforts to develop LGBTQ+ inclusive policies and best practice.
Nathan commented: “I am thrilled to be recognised again alongside truly inspirational individuals who are taking innovative steps to advance LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace and beyond. Progress in this space relies on collective effort and this recognition is testament to our firm’s commitment to diversity, as well as the work of our Proud Network in APAC and across our global network”.
INvolve founder and CEO Suki Sandhu OBE added: “LGBTQ+ and advocate Role Models remain vital for driving tangible, long term inclusion for LGBTQ+ individuals across the world. The individuals featured within the Outstanding Role Model Lists supported by YouTube are all trailblazers who are driving impactful initiatives and strategic change within their organizations and across wider society. I am so thrilled to be able to showcase and celebrate their achievements through this year’s Outstanding Role Model Lists, and I look forward to seeing the continued positive impact they will make for global LGBTQ+ inclusion”.
