This webinar series informed you about current and selected topics from legal practice. Our speakers dealt with both the legal framework and its implementation in practice – concisely and informatively.
The first topic was “Urban design options for sustainability – Aspects of building and public procurement law for successful implementation” on Thursday, 26 January 2023. Senior Associates Annekathrin Hoffmann and Annabelle Forster, together with Jan Philipp Stephan, Head of the Department of Urban and Landscape Planning of the Eimsbüttel district authority, spoke on the framework conditions under building and public procurement law for taking sustainability aspects into account in the planning and realisation of building projects, as well as on the design options for the public sector. The aim was to provide participants with an overview of how the climate protection goals defined by law at European and national level can be successfully implemented both in the context of urban land use planning and in the implementation of building contracts.
Annekathrin Hoffmann explained how sustainability criteria can be implemented in land-use plans and in various public or private contracts. The focus will also be on the actual (long-term) implementation of the set and agreed sustainability goals. Subsequently, Annabelle Forster will explain what public contracting authorities have to consider when implementing sustainable building procurement and what possibilities there are to consider aspects of sustainability in the context of procurement. Finally, Jan Philipp Stephan will give an insight into how current questions on the topic of sustainability are solved in practice and provide you with tips for implementation.
Following the presentation, you had the opportunity to put your questions to our experts.
