Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that Cyrille Gogny-Goubert has joined the firm’s Paris office, establishing an on-the-ground real estate practice in France for the first time. Prior to joining WFW, Cyrille was a Partner and Head of Real Estate at boutique French firm Bersay, having previously worked at both Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and King & Spalding in Paris.
Cyrille advises French real estate investors and developers, international investment funds, hospitality sector operators and high net-worth individuals on the legal and financial structuring of real estate development and investment operations, the purchase and sale of real estate assets and companies, property litigation, asset management and town planning-related matters. He also has extensive experience advising on private equity transactions, in particular for the hotels sector. Cyrille is recognised as an expert in his field by top French legal directory Leaders League.
WFW Paris Office Head, Romain Girtanner, commented: “Real estate has long been one of WFW’s core industry sectors, including a regular flow of work in France, and with Cyrille joining us we now have a dedicated real estate group in Paris. Cyrille brings a wealth of experience to the firm, especially in the hotels and leisure space where we already have a reputation for excellence in London and beyond. He will also be working closely with our Paris energy group led by Laurent Battoue and the real estate finance practice developed by Philippe Wolanski, with whom strong work synergies naturally exist, as well as the global real estate group. I’m delighted to welcome him to the firm”.
Cyrille added: “I’m very excited to have joined WFW Paris. The firm has a longstanding reputation for international excellence in the real estate sector generally and the hotels space in particular, making it an ideal fit for me. In addition, the strength of WFW’s energy practice means we will be ideally placed to be a leading adviser on the key development of energy transition in the real estate sector. I look forward to helping build up the firm’s new Paris real estate practice and working with my new colleagues across the WFW international network”.
