Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has strengthened its highly regarded Paris finance practice with the hire of Partner Philippe Wolanski, who joins the firm from the Paris office of Shearman & Sterling where he was Counsel.
An all-round banking and finance expert, Philippe has extensive experience advising lenders on real estate, project and asset finance transactions and in particular in the renewable energy sector. He is also well versed in representing debtors and creditors in restructuring, reorganisation and insolvency matters.
WFW Paris Office Head, Romain Girtanner commented: “Philippe is a great addition to our respected Paris finance practice, especially given his focus on real estate, asset and project finance that complement precisely the firm’s core global sectors of expertise. His joining us also significantly strengthens our French law finance capability, which is key to ensuring the further expansion of our Paris practice in that area. I’m delighted to welcome him to WFW”.
Philippe added: “Given the strong synergies between my practice and WFW’s sectors of expertise, WFW represents the ideal platform for me to improve and expand the service I can offer my clients. I also greatly look forward to helping to further develop the French finance practice alongside my new colleagues both in Paris and across the firm’s global network”.
